O inconformismo dos agricultores com esta exclusão foi o primeiro indicativo de que os fatores usados no zoneamento do MAPA eram insuficientes para indicar os ecossistemas propícios à espécie. As Zonas Naturais usadas para delimitar os ambientes propícios e a checagem de lavouras da espécie no campo foram a base deste estudo, utilizado pelo MAPA, para rever a decisão. O MAPA publicou no Diário Oficial da União de 04/10/2012 a inclusão do Município no Zoneamento, conferindo aos cafeicultores o direito ao benefício de políticas públicas no âmbito do assunto. É sugerido alteração na publicação do instrumento legal sobre o zoneamento agrícola, visando abrir possibilidades de legitimar a inclusão daqueles beneficiários que estejam excluídos por limitações do método de zoneamento usado. The municipality of Vargem Alta requested Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) for their inclusion in the conilon coffee zoning. The discontent of local farmers with this exclusion was the first indication that the information used in the zoning by MAPA was insufficient to reveal the appropriate ecosystems for the cultivation of this species. The Natural Zones employed to define the suitable environments for conilon cultivation and the field crop checks to confirm the species, were the basis of this study which was used by MAPA to review the decision to include Vargem Alta in the conilon coffee zoning. MAPA published this addition in the Official Gazette of 04/10/2012 giving the local farmers the right to benefit from public policies that are related to this subject.
