dc.descriptionAcid lime is affected by several diseases and pests, resulting in variable losses, which range from negligible effects on leaves, roots, stems or fruits to reduction in growth and yield or complete decline. The distribution of acid lime pests and diseases and their severity are affected by several factors, including conduciveness of the environmental conditions, aggressiveness of pathogen strains, type of insect pests, and resistance of limes and rootstocks. Phytoplasmainduced witches broom disease of lime is a serious disease, especially in the Middle East. Citrus canker, Huanglongbing disease and several fungaland viral diseases are common in different parts of the world.
