Um experimento visando estimar o ganho de peso medio diario por animal, carga animal e ganho de peso vivo por hectare de tres gramineas perenes e uma anual de estacao quente foi conduzido na Estacao Experimental Agrononomica da UFRGS, Guaiba, RS de dezembro de 1978 a junho de 1979. As gramineas forrageiras perenes pensacola (Paspalum saurae (Parondi) Parodi, Coastal bermuda (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.) cv. Coastal e pangola (Digitaria decumbens Stent.) constituiram as alternativas de verao e juntas com o milheto Comum (Pennisetum americanum (L.) Leeke) cv. Comum, as alternativas de outono. A producao de materia seca de pangola foi superior a de Coastal bermuda em 11%, e superior a pensacola em 67%. Os maiores ganhos medios diarios foram obtidos sempre que o milheto comum foi usado como alternativa de outono, com excecao do sistema pangola-pangola, que apresentou ganho medio diario semelhante a estas alternativas. Os sistemas pangola-milheto Comum, pangola-pangola e Coastal bermuda-milheto Comum superaram os demais no parametro peso vivo. ha-1. dia-1, suportando carga animal de 1777 kg, 1647 kg e 1491 kg.ha-1.dia-1, respectivamente. Os ganhos por hectare foram de 652 kg de peso vivo para a alternativa pangola-milheto Comum, 599 kg para Coastal bermuda-milheto Comum e 593 kg para pangola-pangola, tendo estas combinacoes se mostrado superiores as demais. |

Determining the correct population of plants and number of orthotropic stems to be kept per area, along with optimal pruning management, is very important for crops of Coffea canephora. The aim of this work was to improve conilon
coffee cropping management, evaluating the influence of the programmed pruning cycle with different combinations of spacing and numbers of orthotropic stems per plant on crop yield. Two experiments were carried out: one with smaller spacing and
lower numbers of stems per plant, and another with larger spacing and higher numbers of stems per plant. Both assays followed a triple factorial scheme 2 x 3 x 4 (2 spacing x 3 numbers of stems per plant x 4 harvests) in a random block statistical design,
using four replications and 11 plants pen plot. The results show that a reduction in spacing associated with an increase in number of stems per plant has a positive effect on the conilon coffee yield. |
