Coffee growing is an important activity for the income of farms and the production of specialty coffees should be encouraged. However, it is necessary that this process respects the principles based on the economic, environmental, and social axes of sustainability. This research was carried out in the municipality of Conceição do Castelo, State of Espírito Santo, Brazil aiming to assess the initial benchmark of the sustainability of three farms. The results showed a gap in the three axes with intervention needs mainly related to economic standards, followed by social and environmental. Different interventions and adaptations need to be used on each farm aiming to reach better levels of adequacy according to sustainability criteria; however, the values of the families and their limitations must be respected, particularly the economic, social, and cultural conditions. The three coffee farms need adjustments for the production of specialty coffees, mainly related to economic criteria. In this way, farms will be able to reach new markets, add value to coffee beans, increase farm income and develop sustainability. |

This study aimed to evaluate the response of taro São Bento to different irrigation depths. The experiment was conducted at IFES campus Santa Teresa, at an altitude of 130 meters, using the design of randomized blocks (DBC), with five treatments (L1 = 25%, L2 = 50% = 75% L3, L4 = 100 and L5% = 125% of ETpc) and four replications. Meteorological data were collected daily from a weather station located near the experimental area and from these made up irrigation management using IRRISIMPLES® software, determining the crop water demand and making up the water balance. We evaluated the yield of total and commercial rhizomes and efficiency in water use by taro. The results were submitted to regression equations adjustments. Once harvested, the
rhizomes were separated into five classes: rhizome mother, great son, middle son, little son and refuse. The depth 125% of ETpc irrigation led to higher yields of total rhizomes and commercial rhizomes, then 100% of the depth. The lower productivity values were obtained in the smaller depth. The depth that provided the highest use efficiency by taro was 75%, followed by the depth 100%. MenosAvaliou-se a produtividade do taro São Bento a diferentes lâminas de irrigação.
