The harvesting and postharvesting stages of coffee fruits are the most important in defining the final quality of the product, making it necessary to implement actions that contribute to such success. There are a number of innovative and effective technologies that enable farmers to perform their best performing and least risky production activities. However, there is a certain precariousness in the availability of technical information arriving in a fragmented way and beyond the reach of many. This fact alone leads us to conclude that there is a demand for greater efficiency of the technology transfer system by farmers' rganizations. Thus, the purpose of this proposal, which started in 2016, was to develop extension activities aimed at increasing the level of ownership of available technologies and improving the quality of coffee from the Capixabas mountains. Emphasis was placed on the production, development and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge of coffee postharvest, management of rural properties,
environment and management of water resources, based on the demand originating from the family farmer, associations and/or technicians of the partner institutions, developing extension actions and practices, with a multidisciplinary, systemic and participatory scope, aiming to attend the productive units without disregarding their socio-environmental and economic particularities. During three years of work, a total audience of 1,108 people were attended, including technicians and extensionistas (94), students (430), producers (403) and other non-characterized stakeholders (181), who participated in the various extension events promoted. Sixty-two technical visits to coffee farms were carried out to verify the current conditions and guide the necessary adjustments and the implementation of technologies aimed at
improving the local productive chain. It is concluded that it is necessary to follow the adoption and implementation processes of the assimilated knowledge and technologies. rbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and Piriformospora indica are well known for promoting growth, development, and nutrient uptake and for improving plant photosynthesis. These fungi represent promising tools supporting micropropagated plants during the acclimatization stage, and their use can reduce the application of phosphate fertilizers, providing economic and environmental benefits. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the benefits of inoculation with AMF and P. indica for the growth of plantlets of the Imperial cultivar of pineapple inoculated during the acclimatization stage and grown with different levels of phosphorus (P). The experiment consisted of six P levels (0, 20, 40, 80, 160 and 320 mg kg?1 soil) with inoculation of Claroideoglomus etunicatum, Dentiscutata heterogama, Rhizophagus clarus, P. indica, a mixture of all fungi (Mix), or control (no inoculation). The parameters vegetative growth, the nutrient contents in the plants, photosynthetic efficiency, and the components of dependence and colonization by fungi were assessed. The fungal inoculation was effective for plantlet growth, especially up to a P dose of 40 mg kg?1, increasing both plant biomass and the absorption of all evaluated nutrients. With P at 80 mg kg?1, only the treatments with C. etunicatum and Mix produced plantlets of better quality than the non-inoculated control. The colonization by AMF and P. indica was not affected by the addition of P to the soil, although fungal dependence decreased under these conditions and could be considered moderate even at 40 mg kg?1 for plants inoculated with C. etunicatum, R. clarus, P. indica or Mix. The inoculation of pineapple plantlets is a promising method that can be employed to produce high-quality propagative material for the market.
